Sabbaticals: a leader's reset button

In August of 2009, I sensed that God was giving me a framework for my upcoming sabbatical. It was based on the simple words of Jesus—“come and have breakfast” (John 21:12). I began this sabbatical on November 2 and will begin to re-engage ministry again on February 8, 2010. This has been a time of resetting, recalibrating, and realigning by the “charcoal fire” with Jesus (John 21). Around this charcoal fire God has spoken into my identity, showed me things about ministry rhythm, and clarified some things concerning my role in the coming years.
